Cougar Dissection Lab
Have you ever seen a cougar dissection!?
For our first episode of Curriculum Crossover, we have invited a university instructor and a Community Social Work student to experience what it is like to be an Environmental Technologist Diploma student. On this day, they have a necropsy lab for a cougar that was accidentally snared on a trapline in the region.
Necropsy is done to determine the cause of death or extent of disease. This involves a careful process of dissection, observation, interpretation, and documentation.
The Environmental Technologist Diploma program is accredited by the North American Wildlife Technology Association and is recognized by the Alberta Institute of Agrologist R.T. Ag.
These necropsy labs are a requirement for students in the Portage College program, and they expose students to situations they will encounter in the field.
With access to thousands of hectares of forests, hundreds of lakes, and several generous industry supporters that help provide many opportunities, our students are in the perfect place to learn, practice, and gain firsthand experience in our labs.
If you are interested in applying to the program, we'd love to have you. Check out our Environmental program page on our main website.

It's not necessary to remove the ribs from whitefish fillets that are going to be canned. They will melt during the canning process. You won't even know they are there.
Please I need response, I applied for practical nursing since November 2023 I’m yet to get offer
*Promo SM* 💔
What a fantastic experience for our students! I learned a lot from just watching this video.

@@PortageCollegeABplease I applied for PN and I’m yet to get offer 6 months now
Where is your location
Hi do you have the pattern for the upper part of the mukluks?
Great work
What about shells? Didn't we use shells before the Europeans arrived with beads?
Amazing culture ❤, love from Morocco also great techniques. I wish i can participate in some workshop like this in the future, inshaeAllah, long life to the indigenous people of America i dont know why but i feel special connection to you guys since i was a kid guess i am just a fan of the culture 😅.
Métis flag!!!
Check out our Métis Flag Raising ceremonies in our live-streaming section of UA-cam. We hope you love it!
Do you have more educational videos on how to finish bead work on your traditional loom? I made my own loom and would really like to start creating pieces. My grandfather had a good relationship with Hopi Indians. He worked from the res selling jewelry made by the natives. He's gone now but i still have this passion for making traditional first American jewelry. I've never been to AZ or any reservation for that matter. I just feel a connection? If you could share more information and techniques, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!🫶🏼
How do you do the ending part at the end at the finishing part
Another video that explains nothing really. Nobody gives steps. No measurements explained. It's all just a broad process shown with terrible music.
Thank you so much. Blessings. Love these ❤
Hello there, I tried to apply a diploma program 2024 Fall by the Apply Alberta system, but I face a problem, the application fee checkout page and it seems my application was not completed. Is it possible to talk to someone at Portage College? I tried to fill the inquiry form at the international student page but have not heard from any of representative. I will be appreciated if you can help me. Many thanks...

It’s a part of everyone’s culture. Even us natives
How is this the "traditional" way when you use butter and soap with the brain?
pickles or pickle relish and chopped onions add a zest to any canned fish
What oil do you add to the brain solution? Im going to attempt a deer this weekend and am so excited
😊
😊
